The combination of the female nude and water was first explored in the 1970s and has frequently been returned to. The Liberty series is the current project.

These oil paintings of water and nudes concentrate on the sensual forms and distortions of both figure and water observing and capturing the patterns, reflections and shimmering movements. As a traditional and representational painter my aim is to create a high degree of realism although quite often some of the shapes do take on an abstract nature. By working exclusively from my own photography I can select and compose balanced and rhythmic flows throughout the painting that emphasize both motion and the play of light.
